About Midikids

Midikids Art Program was founded in 2010. With Midi team’s spirit of professionalism and innovation, Midi has held nearly 100 live music programs for children and their families. After six years’ effort, it has helped nearly 100 outstanding children bands across the country to get to Midi festival stage. The children who love music were provided with a professional platform. 

Eligibility For Competition

• No restrictions of nationality, but the contestants must live in China with a valid ID card.
  

• Contestants must obtain the consent of their guardians before applying
  

• Contestants should not be bound by any acting or agency contract

• Children Group (Age 6 to 12)

• Teenagers Group (Age 13 to 17)

Competition Contents

Content:

In the form of a band, and the players need to include the ones play guitars（or ukulele）, bass and drums. 

Entry requirements:

Preliminaries: 

. 1 original track or adapted track

Quarter-Final & National Finals: 

. 2-3 original tracks or other tracks

3. Whole music’s expressiveness

 Preliminary Selection

Contestants' submitted videos are graded according to the score criterion. The promotion list will be announced on August 20, 2017

Standards for Competitive Videos:

• Competitive videos should ensure the picture quality and sound clarity

• Competitive videos should be recorded living on site. You should never edit the performance during recording.

 Quarter-final               

September 2017 - November 2017

Competition Zone：

Beijing, Shanghai, Suzhou, Chengdu, Shenzhen

• The performances of the players are graded according to the criteria of review. The promotion list will be announced on the spot.
  

Players are free to choose the competition zone and each play can only choose one zone. Once the application form is submitted, the choice for zone should not be changed.

 National finals            

December 2017 (Shenzhen Midi festival)

• The performances of the players are graded according to the criteria of review. The National Finals award will be announced on the spot.

Quarter final date and national final date will be in terms of the final annunciation. 

Application Process

 Competition Fees    

1. No application fees during every competition section.

2. Bands selected for Quarter- Finals should bear the costs for heading to relative zone cities.

3. Transportation expenses and the accommodation fees in Shenzhen for the player participating in the final competition and the tutor (only 1) will be borne by organizer. Members other than the band players need to pay for their own travel expenses.
